O’Farrell Building

O’Farrell Building

The project required remodeling of 44 apartment units in a 12-story building in San Francisco. We coordinated work with architects to develop an affordable, aesthetic design for each unit, hiring all project contractors and managing activities at the site.

This challenging project required cooperation with various San Francisco agencies, including the police department, rent-control board, fire department, and building department. The outcome was an improvement to a building that previously suffered from significant vacancies, deferred maintenance, and an unstable tenant base.

Result: Improvements, which produced an increase of more than 150 percent in monthly rents, took place over five years in both occupied and unoccupied units.
